Fiona Tyson

Fiona is a qualified  Remedial Sports and Soft Tissue therapist. Since graduating from the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage with BTEC Level 5, the highest level attainable in the UK, she has worked in corporate settings and within a chiropractic clinic before setting up Lightwater Health & Chiropractic in 2016 with her fellow colleague, Gina Lear.

She is a hands-on therapist and focuses on treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of occupational and sport related injuries. Fiona’s treatment clientele include children with growing conditions, sports injuries for all ages and people with occupational aches, pains and tension headaches. In her time as a qualified Sports Massage Therapist, Fiona can include GB Olympic rowers, Paralympic swimmers, Oxford rowers, elite players of Wasps Rugby Union Cub and members of the Territorial Support Group of the Metropolitan Police to her list of successfully treated patients.

Her treatments use a variety of specialised techniques such as soft tissue release, neuro muscular technique, post isometric relaxation, reciprocal inhibition, connective tissue massage, trigger points, general sports and deep tissue massage. She also uses Kinesiology taping to assist recovery.

Fiona’s Aim:
Having been involved in 2 car accidents during her career in the police force, Fiona was in constant pain with her back and in her quest to get back to full fitness, she gained an interest in anatomy and how to deal with chronic pain. It was this journey that gives her the determination and empathy to help others.

Fiona’s Hobbies:
Fiona has a wide range of interests, including pig and chicken rearing. She has run 2 marathons and several half marathons but now concentrates more on HIIT sessions, swimming and yoga! She also loves to do a bit of baking in her spare time!
